OUR LADY STAR OF THE SEA SCHOOL
Spanish – Mrs. Dawn Skeith-Baugher
Mrs. Skeith-Baugher received a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Spanish from Towson University, and attended Boise State University for Masters level courses in Education. While in Idaho, she worked for the federally funded TRiO Pre-College Programs, and assisted students in their preparation for college. This is her 11th year teaching Spanish at OLSS.

5th Grade: Mrs. Beth Oster
Mrs. Oster has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, with concentrations in Math and Science, from the University of Maryland, College Park. Since joining our Parish in 1996, she volunteered as a Catechist, Coordinator of Religious Education, and Director of Vacation Bible School. This is her 4th year teaching grade levels at OLSS; she was previously one of our Art teachers. All seven of her children attended OLSS.

Aide & Religion Teacher: Mrs. Nicola Fockler
Mrs. Fockler was born and raised in the U.K. She served in the Royal Air Force as a medic, before marrying her husband John 34 years ago and moving to the U.S.A. They have lived in the Solomons area with their nine children since 2001. Mrs. Fockler has volunteered as an assistant in various classrooms at OLSS School for the past six years. Her three youngest children all attended the school.

8th Grade: Mr. Keith Balderson
Mr. Balderson received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from West Virginia University. He worked for 32 years as an aerospace engineer, specializing in the modeling and simulation of Navy aircraft. Mr. Balderson is a long-time OLSS parishioner and OLSS Seahawks basketball coach, and both his children attended the school. This is his 1st year teaching at OLSS.

7th Grade: Mrs. Sarah Sullivan
Mrs. Sullivan received her bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies from Seton Hall University with minors in Catholic Studies and Archaeology. She is currently studying Elementary Education at the College of Southern Maryland. This is her 2nd year teaching at OLSS.

Library & STREAM Coordinator: Mrs. Jessica Klasko
Mrs. Klasko has a BA in Psychology from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. She has also worked as a Librarian; at Metuchen Public Library for two years and at Rider University's Moore Library for four years. She has been a math tutor for over 19 years, working with elementary and middle school students on SAT prep, GED prep, geometry, college algebra, and statistics. She has also taught religious education, and attended Catholic schools.

Kindergarten: Mrs. Cheri Shaw
Mrs. Shaw received her BA degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s College of MD, her Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education) from the College of Notre Dame of MD, and has taken post-graduate courses toward a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS). She taught Kindergarten at Little Flower School for three years, K-5th for Calvert and St. Mary’s County Public Schools and is a certified Catechist. Mrs. Shaw attended OLSS School, and her mother was also an OLSS teacher. This is her 7th year teaching at OLSS.

Principal: Mrs. Jennifer Thompson
Mrs. Thompson received a B.S. in English from Frostburg State College, a B.A. in Education from University of Maryland, and a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision from University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, Reading Instruction, & Language Arts from K-12, and is a certified catechist. She taught at St. John’s, Holy Angels/Sacred Heart. She taught at OLSS for 16 years, and this will be her 4th year as our school's Principal.

Physical Education & Computers: Mrs. Cindy Grater
Mrs. Grater graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Physical Education. Before coming to OLSS, she was the PE teacher at Chesapeake Academy in Arnold, MD for 16 years. Along with teaching at OLSS, she taught for two years at Little Flower School in Great Mills, MD. This is her 20th year at OLSS. She is also the OLSS Seahawks Girls Junior Varsity team basketball coach.

School Secretary/Administrative Assistant/Tuition Bookkeeper: Mrs. Colleen Muldoon
Mrs. Muldoon received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has served as a police officer for the Prince George's County Police Department for 20 years and is now retired. Her children have attended the school since 2012. Over the past three years, she had been involved with volunteering her time with many school activities. This is her 7th year working in the School Office.
Art: Mrs. Heather Hankins
Mrs. Hankins is a trained Certified Nursing Assistant and has worked in the fields of infectious disease, pulmonary, pediatrics, and family medicine. Her artistic talents led her to create crafts that she sold through an Etsy shop, and she has done freelance art work in the community since 2013. She volunteered with the OLSS art program before taking over as the Art teacher. Mrs. Hankin’s two children have attended OLSS School since Kindergarten.

Pre-K & Primary Grade Teacher: Mrs. Allison Pouncey
Mrs. Pouncey received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University and is pursuing her Accelerated Certification in Teaching (ACT) from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She is credentialed through Maryland State Department of Education Child Care at a Level 5. Before OLSS, she taught preschool at St. Paul United Methodist Pre-school for 11 years. This is her second year teaching at OLSS.

Aftercare Director: Mrs. Amy Quade
Mrs. Quade graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Leonardtown, and has completed classes at College of Southern Maryland and MSDE Child Care Administration. She has been working at OLSS in the Aftercare program for 21 years. Before OLSS, she worked at St. Paul United Methodist Pre-School for two years. Mrs. Quade went to OLSS, as did her mother, and her children!

Before Care: Mrs. Clarice Maldonado
School Nurse: Mrs. Brandi Hutchins
Mrs. Hutchins obtained her Bachelor's degree in the science of nursing from University of Phoenix. She received her Associate's degree from College of Southern Maryland and her Registered Nursing license in 2008. She has been a nurse over 11 years and has specialized in various fields including cardiac care, medical/surgical, urgent care, and case management. She has one daughter that currently attends our school. This is her 4th year as our School Nurse.
Admissions Director & Administrative Assistant: Mrs. Amber Tamburri
Mrs. Tamburri received a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff in the United Kingdom. She was an Accountant and Human Resources Administrator at an oceanographic research institute in Monterey, California, and also worked with children at a child care center and preschool for several years. This is her 11th year working at OLSS; both her children attended OLSS School from Kindergarten - 8th Grade.
6th Grade: Mrs. Therese Frederick
Mrs. Frederick received her bachelor's degree in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento and a master's degree in Teaching and Learning with a focus in Mathematics from NOVA Southeastern University. Mrs. Frederick has been an educator for 24 years and taught in both California and Maryland. She spent 17 years teaching for St. Mary’s County Public Schools in grades 1-7. This is her 3rd year teaching 6th grade at OLSS.
1st Grade: Mrs. Patricia Mautino
Mrs. Mautino attended Catholic School from Kindergarten through high school. She has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education Administration from Ashford University. She taught Pre-K in San Diego for 10 1/2 years before moving overseas to Japan. While in Japan, she taught at the DODEA school on base in Kindergarten, Special Education and 1st Grade. This is her 2ndyear teaching at OLSS.

2nd Grade: Mrs. Carmen Norris
Mrs. Norris holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She taught two years of Pre-K at Cardinal Hickey Academy, and has worked as a substitute teacher for Calvert County Public Schools for several years, mainly for Kindergarten - 3rd grade classes. She has also worked as an Instructional Aid. This is her 7th year teaching 2nd grade at our school.
3rd Grade: Ms. Maggie Quade
Ms. Quade received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Towson University in 2014, and also holds a Maryland Teacher Certification for Elementary Education. She has worked in Charles County Public Schools, and as a substitute teacher at OLSS. Ms. Quade is also an OLSS and St. Mary's Ryken alumnus! This is her 7th year teaching 3rd grade and her 3nd year as Vice Principal at OLSS.
4th Grade: Mrs. Kimberly Weber
Mrs. Weber earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii. She taught sixth grade in Honolulu, Hawaii and Omaha, Nebraska before settling in Maryland sixteen years ago. This is is 22nd year teaching at OLSS; she has also taught middle school grades. Both of her children have graduated from OLSS.
Pre-Kindergarten: Mrs. Stephanie Riley
Mrs. Riley holds a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Coastal Carolina University. She taught public PK for 4 years in North Carolina. She has worked for Magnificent Minds Learning Center in Great Mills for the last 5 years, tutoring in Reading and Math for grades PK-3. She also worked as a Title One tutor at OLSS earlier this year. This is her 4th year teaching Pre-K at our school.
