Mrs. Skeith-Baugher received a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Spanish from Towson University, and attended Boise State University for Masters level courses in Education. While in Idaho, she worked for the federally funded TRiO Pre-College Programs, and assisted students in their preparation for college. This is her 7th year teaching Spanish at OLSS.
Mrs. Grater graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Physical Education. Before coming to OLSS, she was the PE teacher at Chesapeake Academy in Arnold, MD for 16 years. Along with teaching at OLSS, she taught for two years at Little Flower School in Great Mills, MD. This is her 16th year at OLSS. She is also the OLSS Seahawks Girls Junior Varsity team basketball coach.
Mrs. Smedley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and attended graduate studies in Piano at the Catholic University of America. She was a Music teacher for many years at St. John’s School, and is now is Director and Teacher in the school piano program, and music minister. She taught music and chorus for three years at Mother Catherine Academy. Mrs. Smedley is President of the Music Teachers Association of Southern Maryland, and is on the Board of Directors for the Maryland State Music Teachers Association. This is her 2nd year at OLSS.
Mrs. Ingelido has been the Librarian at OLSS for nine years. Prior to that, she taught Computer classes at the school. She is currently attending University of Maryland University College on the journey towards a Masters Degree in Library Science. She is the mother of four OLSS alumni.
Sister Ruth is a member of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and received a BA in Elementary Education from Thomas More College in Kentucky, and an MA in Education at Xavier University in Cincinnati. She has taught at various schools in Kentucky and West Virginia. This is her 7th year teaching at OLSS. Sister Ruth works as an aide in the Kindergarten class, and teaches cursive handwriting to our 2nd and 3rd grades.
Mrs. Cheseldine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from St. Mary's College of MD, and received training and educational credits for her Maryland State Certification in Elementary Education and 7-12 English from The College of Notre Dame of MD. She also has additional credits in Special Education and Reading. Mrs. Cheseldine's teaching career began in Catholic Schools in 2001. She has taught at Little Flower School, Archbishop Neale School, St. Mary's County Public Schools, and Charles County Public Schools. This is her 2nd year at OLSS.
Mrs. Edwards has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History, and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching. She began teaching for the Archdiocese of Washington in 1993, and taught at Mt. Calvary, Cardinal Hickey Academy, St. John’s, and Calvert County Public Schools. She has been a catechist for grades 2, 5, and 8 at Jesus the Good Shepherd and Jesus the Divine Word Parishes. She has been an educator in varied classroom environments for over 20 years. This is her 3rd year teaching our middle school grades at OLSS.
Mrs. Waldheim has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, with a Minor in Special Education, from Fairmont State College in WV. She taught 1st grade at Patuxent Elementary for six years, 2nd grade at Dowell Elementary for one year, and Special Education at Calvert Elementary for three years. She has also worked as a Title One Tutor. This is her 5th year teaching 1st grade at our school.
Mrs. Thompson received her B.S. in English from Frostburg State College and B.A. in Education from University of Maryland. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, Reading Instruction, & Language Arts from K-12, and is a certified catechist. She taught at St. John’s, Holy Angels/Sacred Heart. This is her 13th year teaching at OLSS.
Mrs. Cotroneo is originally from Minnesota. Until 2016 she lived with her husband and three daughters in Florida while he served in the US Navy. She has an undergraduate in Biology from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and a Master’s of Education emphasizing curriculum and instruction from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington. Her experiences in education includes working with Kindergarten - 4th grades serving as a reading and math remediation specialist. She has also taught 3rd grade in Florida public schools. Here in Maryland she was a Title 1Para-Educator for Lexington Park Elementary School in St. Mary’s County. This is her first year as a PreK instructor and her first year at OLSSS.
Mrs. Yates has an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University, and is continuing her education at University of Maryland and Notre Dame College of Maryland. She taught Pre-K for two years, was a Title I teacher at OLSS for seven years, an Art teacher at OLSS for five years, and a Pre-K Instructional Assistant for Calvert County for five years. This is her 6th year as an Assistant in our Pre-K program. All five of her children attended OLSS.
Mrs. Shaw received her BA degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s College of MD, her Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education) from the College of Notre Dame of MD, and has also taken post-graduate courses toward a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS). She taught Kindergarten at Little Flower School, as well as K-5th grades for Calvert and St. Mary’s County Public Schools. Mrs. Shaw attended OLSS School and her mother was also an OLSS teacher. This is her 3rd year teaching at OLSS.
Mrs. Muldoon received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has served as a police officer for the Prince George's County Police Department for 20 years and is now retired. Her children have attended the school since 2012. Over the past three years, she had been involved with volunteering her time with many school activities. This is her 4th year working in the School Office.
Mrs. Tamburri received a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff in the United Kingdom. She worked for several years as an Accountant and Human Resources Administrator at an oceanographic research institute in Santa Cruz, California before moving to Southern Maryland in 2002. This is her 7th year working at OLSS; her children have been at the school since 2007.
Mrs. Norris holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She taught two years of Pre-K at Cardinal Hickey Academy, and has worked as a substitute teacher for Calvert County Public Schools for several years, mainly for Kindergarten - 3rd grade classes. She has also worked as an Instructional Aid. This is her second year teaching 2nd grade at our school.
Ms. Quade received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Towson University in 2014, and also holds a Maryland Teacher Certification for Elementary Education. She has worked in Charles County Public Schools, and as a substitute teacher at OLSS for the past year. Ms. Quade is also an OLSS and St. Mary's Ryken alumnus! This is her second year teaching 3rd grade here at OLSS.
Mrs. Weber earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii. She taught sixth grade in Honolulu, Hawaii and Omaha, Nebraska before settling in Maryland sixteen years ago. This is is 18th year teaching at OLSS; she has also taught middle school grades. She is the mother of an OLSS alumnus and has one child currently attending our school.
Mrs. Quade graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Leonardtown, and has completed classes at College of Southern Maryland and Maryland State Department of Education Child Care Administration. She has been working at OLSS in the Aftercare program for 16 years. This is her 6th year as an Assistant in our Pre-K program. Before OLSS, she worked at St. Paul United Methodist Pre-School for two years. Mrs. Quade went to OLSS, as did her mother, and both of her children!
Mrs. Bartsch has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education (West Chester University) and two Masters Degrees; one in Elementary Administration and one in Applied Technology (Wilmington University). She was the Principal of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Colorado, and Principal of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in Monona, Wisconsin. She also has many years of experience as a teacher of various subjects in elementary and middle school grades, has served on several Middle States teams to evaluate schools for re-accreditation, has been a Robotics Team coach, and has implemented new technologies and programs at various schools. This will be her 2nd year as Principal of OLSS.

Mrs. Dale has her BS degree in Health Care Management from Southern Illinois University. She received her nursing diploma from the Department of Health and Hospitals Boston, Massachusetts. She has been nursing over forty years in a variety of fields including pediatrics, orthopedic, geriatrics, obstetrics, intensive care, cardiac care, and emergency care. Most recently she has been the school nurse for our school.
Joanne Pensenstadler attended University of Maryland, has her Catechesis certificate, and is currently working on her Master Catechesis degree. She developed a Faith Formation program at Holy Angels, and has been with Our Lady Star of the Sea for five years. She is our Catechesis Coordinator, and our Director of Faith Formation, Sacraments and Youth Ministry. She is also the Adult Catechetical Leader Association (ACLA) and Calvert County Regional Representative for the Archdiocese of Washington D.C.
