7th Grade: Ms. Alexandra Paglia
Ms. Paglia received her Bachelors degree in Economics from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2018. She is currently working towards her Masters in Teaching from Liberty University. Ms. Paglia has also worked as a teacher at the Huntington Learning Center in California, MD. This is her first year teaching 7th grade at OLSS.

6th Grade: Mrs. Wendy Rawlings
Mrs. Rawlings earned an Associate of Arts in General Studies and the Associate of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education degrees from the College of Southern Maryland. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6) from Towson University and recently obtained additional certification to teach middle school mathematics. This is her fifth year in the classroom after teaching 4th grade for three years and 3rd grade for one year in Charles County Public Schools. This is her first year teaching 6th grade at OLSS.
8th Grade: Mrs. Beth Oster
Mrs. Oster has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, with concentrations in Math and Science, from the University of Maryland, College Park. She was a substitute for Calvert County Public Schools, and became a Catechist in 1994. Since joining our Parish in 1996, she volunteered as a Catechist, Coordinator of Religious Education, and Director of Vacation Bible School. She taught Art at OLSS School for the past two years, and taught Algebra to our middle school grades last year. All seven of her children have attended OLSS.
Kindergarten: Mrs. Cheri Shaw
Mrs. Shaw received her BA degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s College of MD, her Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education) from the College of Notre Dame of MD, and has also taken post-graduate courses toward a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS). She taught Kindergarten at Little Flower School, as well as K-5th grades for Calvert and St. Mary’s County Public Schools. She is a certified Catechist. Mrs. Shaw attended OLSS School, and her mother was also an OLSS teacher. This is her 5th year teaching at OLSS.
Art: Mrs. Amy Carter
Mrs. Carter received her B.F.A. and M.A. in Art Education from Ohio University. She is certified K-12 Visual Art. She taught Art at Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio for four years. She taught at Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA before moving to Japan, where she taught 2nd grade at Shirley Lanham Elementary for one year, and substitute taught in the DODEA schools. She taught Art at Northern High School for three years, and Ceramics to grades 1-9 at Annmarie Gardens, as well as substituting K-12 in St. Mary’s and Calvert County Public Schools. This is her first year teaching at OLSS.
Interim Principal: Mrs. Jennifer Thompson
Mrs. Thompson received her B.S. in English from Frostburg State College and B.A. in Education from University of Maryland. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, Reading Instruction, & Language Arts from K-12, and is a certified catechist. She taught at St. John’s, Holy Angels/Sacred Heart. She has taught at OLSS for 16 years, and will be our Interim Principal as we begin the 2019-20 school year.
School Secretary/Administrative Assistant: Mrs. Colleen Muldoon
Mrs. Muldoon received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has served as a police officer for the Prince George's County Police Department for 20 years and is now retired. Her children have attended the school since 2012. Over the past three years, she had been involved with volunteering her time with many school activities. This is her 5th year working in the School Office.
Hot Lunch Coordinator: Mr. George Klein
School Nurse: Mrs. Brandi Hutchins
Mrs. Hutchins obtained her Bachelor's degree in the science of nursing from University of Phoenix. She received her Associate's degree from College of Southern Maryland and obtained her Registered Nursing license in 2008. She has been a nurse over 11 years and has specialized in various fields of nursing including cardiac care, medical/surgical, urgent care, and case management. She has one daughter that currently attends our school. This is her first year as our School Nurse, and she is excited to be a part of the OLSS family.
Administrative Assistant: Mrs. Amber Tamburri
Mrs. Tamburri received a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff in the United Kingdom. She worked for several years as an Accountant and Human Resources Administrator at an oceanographic research institute in Santa Cruz, California before moving to Maryland in 2002. This is her 9th year working at OLSS; both her children attended OLSS School from Kindergarten - 8th Grade.
Spanish – Mrs. Dawn Skeith-Baugher
Mrs. Skeith-Baugher received a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in Spanish from Towson University, and attended Boise State University for Masters level courses in Education. While in Idaho, she worked for the federally funded TRiO Pre-College Programs, and assisted students in their preparation for college. This is her 8th year teaching Spanish at OLSS.
Physical Education & Information Technology/Computer Class: Mrs. Cindy Grater
Mrs. Grater graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Physical Education. Before coming to OLSS, she was the PE teacher at Chesapeake Academy in Arnold, MD for 16 years. Along with teaching at OLSS, she taught for two years at Little Flower School in Great Mills, MD. This is her 18th year at OLSS. She is also the OLSS Seahawks Girls Junior Varsity team basketball coach.
Music: Ms. Kathy Bone
Ms. Kathleen Bone received her B.S. in Music Education from the University of Maryland. She studied Dalcroze, Orff, and Kodaly at Old Dominion University; and piano and piano pedagogy at Capital University, Bexley, OH, and Westchester College in Westchester, PA. She served for twenty years as music director for Broadway plays at Cardinal Hickey Academy in Owings, MD. She is currently a church pianist, and has maintained a private piano studio for thirty years.
Library: Mrs. Angela Ingelido
Mrs. Ingelido has been the Librarian at OLSS for 13 years. She holds her Associate's Degree from the College of Southern Maryland, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland University College in Humanities and Sociology, and is attending Rutgers University working towards a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science. She is the mother of four OLSS alumni.
Tutor & Handwriting Teacher: Sister Ruth Parent
Sister Ruth is a member of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and received a BA in Elementary Education from Thomas More College in Kentucky, and an MA in Education at Xavier University in Cincinnati. She has taught at various schools in Kentucky and West Virginia. This is her 9th year teaching at OLSS. Sister Ruth works as an aide in the Kindergarten class, and teaches cursive handwriting to our 2nd and 3rd grades.
5th Grade: Mrs. Teresa Ratliff
Mrs. Ratliff has a Bachelors Degree from St. Mary's College of MD, and a Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is returning to her Maryland roots after teaching for nine years in Tucson, AZ. Prior to moving to Arizona, she taught for 23 years in the Archdiocese of Washington at St. Peter's in Waldorf and at the Basilica School of St. Mary in the Arlington Diocese. She is excited to join the OLSSS family!
1st Grade: Mrs. Peggy Waldheim
Mrs. Waldheim has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, with a Minor in Special Education, from Fairmont State College in WV. She taught 1st grade at Patuxent Elementary for six years, 2nd grade at Dowell Elementary for one year, and Special Education at Calvert Elementary for three years. She has also worked as a Title One Tutor. This is her 7th year teaching 1st grade at our school.
2nd Grade: Mrs. Carmen Norris
Mrs. Norris holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. She taught two years of Pre-K at Cardinal Hickey Academy, and has worked as a substitute teacher for Calvert County Public Schools for several years, mainly for Kindergarten - 3rd grade classes. She has also worked as an Instructional Aid. This is her 4th year teaching 2nd grade at our school.
3rd Grade: Ms. Maggie Quade
Ms. Quade received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Towson University in 2014, and also holds a Maryland Teacher Certification for Elementary Education. She has worked in Charles County Public Schools, and as a substitute teacher at OLSS. Ms. Quade is also an OLSS and St. Mary's Ryken alumnus! This is her 4th year teaching 3rd grade at OLSS.
4th Grade: Mrs. Kimberly Weber
Mrs. Weber earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii. She taught sixth grade in Honolulu, Hawaii and Omaha, Nebraska before settling in Maryland sixteen years ago. This is is 20th year teaching at OLSS; she has also taught middle school grades. Both of her children have graduated from OLSS.
Pre-Kindergarten: Mrs. Stephanie Riley
Mrs. Riley holds a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Coastal Carolina University. She taught public PK for 4 years in North Carolina. She has worked for Magnificent Minds Learning Center in Great Mills for the last 5 years, tutoring in Reading and Math for grades PK-3. She also worked as a Title One tutor at OLSS earlier this year. This is her second year teaching Pre-K at our school.
Pre-K Assistant & Aftercare Director: Mrs. Amy Quade
Mrs. Quade graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Leonardtown, and has completed classes at College of Southern Maryland and MSDE Child Care Administration. She has been working at OLSS in the Aftercare program for 18 years. This is her 8th year as an Assistant in our Pre-K program. Before OLSS, she worked at St. Paul United Methodist Pre-School for two years. Mrs. Quade went to OLSS, as did her mother, and her children!
Pre-K Assistant: Mrs. Terri Yates
Mrs. Yates has an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University, and is continuing her education at University of Maryland and Notre Dame College of Maryland. She taught Pre-K for two years, was a Title I teacher at OLSS for seven years, an Art teacher at OLSS for five years, and has been an Instructional Assistant for Calvert County Public Schools for 18 years. This is her 8th year as an Assistant in our Pre-K program. All five of her children attended OLSS.
