VIRTUS CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM 

ARCHDIOCESE OF WASHINGTON CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM


​Anyone wishing to volunteer at the school is required by the Archdiocese of Washington to complete ALL 5 STEPS of the VIRTUS Child Protection Program before they may volunteer:


1) Create a VIRTUS account online at http://www.virtus.org

NOTE: You must complete the Live training class within 60 day of creating your Virtus account or your account will be deleted by the ADW Office of Child & Youth Protection.


2) Complete a Volunteer Application Form and submit it to the School Office


3) Register for and attend a virtual Child Protection Workshop ("Live Training") on the Virtus website (Zoom meeting). Please contact an OLSS Virtus Coordinator if you would like to register for a class that is marked as full.


4) Read the ADW Child Protection Policy Booklet, sign and submit the Acknowledgement Form  to the School Office.

5) Make an appointment to have your fingerprints taken at an ADW-approved location. Please complete the online Livescan Pre-Registration Application in advance, and bring two forms of ID; one with a photo. ​

OLSS uses Safe Hire Solutions; contact them to make an appointment: http://www.safehiresolutions.com/ The fee is $70.

Once all steps have been completed and the fingerprints/background check have cleared (typically two weeks after having them done), you may begin volunteering.
